H.E, Igor Driesmans has served as the EU Ambassador to ASEAN
since 2019. He was previously a Member of the Cabinet of Federica
Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and
Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission. His
responsibilities included Asia and Pacific, Cultural Diplomacy,
Transport and Fisheries. He previously served as Principal Assistant
to the Chief Operating Officer of the European External Action
Service (2014), Desk Officer for ASEAN (2013-2014), and Deputy
Head of the Political, Economic, Trade and Information Section of the
EU Delegation to South Africa (2009-2013). Ambassador Igor
Driesmans has been an official of the EU since 2003. He holds a
Masters in History from, University of Gent (Belgium).


H.E. Vidar Helgesen is a Norwegian diplomat and politician for the Conservative party. He also served as Minister of European Affairs from 2013 to 2015, and as Minister of Climate and the Environment from 2015 to 2018; having served as Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Erna Solberg from 2013 to 2015. He served as Secretary-General of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance from 2005 to 2013. Studied and trained as a lawyer. 1998-2001, Special Adviser to the President, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Geneva. 2001-05, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Norway, responsible for Norway's membership of the Security Council, humanitarian assistance, human rights, and democracy, as well as regional responsibility for Africa, Asia, and Latin America: 2002, Chair, Afghanistan Support Group; 2002-03, led the peace negotiations between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Since 2006, Secretary-General, International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA). 2007-09, Member of the Advisory Board, United Nations Peacebuilding Fund UN. Member of the Board: Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, Geneva; Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy, Copenhagen. Author of articles on the international law of armed conflict. He is currently the Executive Director of the Nobel Foundation,


Sir Peter Gluckman trained as a pediatrician and biomedical scientist and holds a Distinguished University Professorship at the Liggins Institute of the University of Auckland. He also holds honorary chairs in University College London, University of Southampton, and the National University of Singapore (where he acts as chief science advisor to the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences). He has published over 700 scientific papers in perinatal and developmental physiology, neuroscience and endocrinology, evolutionary biology, and medicine. He has authored both technical and popular science books. He chaired the WHO Commission on Ending Childhood Obesity (2014-2017). Sir Peter is also chair of the International Network of Government Science Advice and president-elect of the International Science Council (ISC). From 2009-2018 he was first Chief Science Advisor to the Prime Minister of New Zealand. He is also a Science Envoy for the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and coordinates the secretariat of the Small Advanced Economies Initiative. He has written and spoken extensively on science-policy and science-diplomacy and science-society interactions. He has received the highest scientific and civilian honors in New Zealand and numerous international scientific awards. In 2016 he received the AAAS award in Science Diplomacy. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of London and the Royal Society of New Zealand, a member of the National Academy of Medicine (USA), and a fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (UK).
